Recording MP3 Audio

Recording MP3 audio is straight forward with Huelix Audio Recorder.

Step 1. From the Settings toolbar menu or Settings main menu, select Audio Formats.

Step 2. Select the radio button MP3 Files - MPEG-1, Layer 3 Audio.

Step 3. Navigate to the MP3 Settings tab and select appropriate parameters.

Selecting MP3 Bitrates

CBR - Constant bit rate mode. Select a desired bit rate from the drop down list. Higher bit rates provide higher quality, but result in larger files.

VBR - Variable bit rate mode. Select a minimum, and maximum bit rates from the respective drop down lists. Minimum bit rate should be lower than the maximum bit rate. Select an appropriate VBR quality from the list. 0 offers the best quality while 9 is the lowest quality.

Set Encoding Quality - Adjust the slider to control the MP3 encoder complexity. The Maximum quality setting results in higher fidelity but will use more complex algorithms that use more CPU resources, slowing down the encoding process. If you have a particularly slow computer, keep the setting on the lower side.

MP3 Metadata - These options add some flags to indicate the status of the MP3 audio file and add CRC checksum used to verify the integrity of MP3 data.

Original - Indicate whether the MP3 content is original. Check this to enable original flag.

Copyright - Check this to indicate that the file is copyrighted.

CRC - Check this to add CRC checksum to MP3 frame headers.

Channels - Huelix audio recorder records MP3 data in either mono or stereo modes. To create small voice recordings you may want to enable Mono mode. Otherwise select the Stereo radio button.

Sampling Rate - Standard MP3 files support three sampling frequencies. The most common setting corresponds to CD quality, 44100 Hz.
